02/18/11 - Bordentown, NJ - According to the most recent year-end 2010 data distributed by the Tennis Industry Association and Sports Marketing Survey (TIA/SMS), the Prince T22 footwear has been named the best-selling footwear model in both units and dollars for the entire 2010 year in U.S. tennis specialty. The feat is considerable given the competitive footwear landscape. It is also a testament to the product’s true performance qualities and Prince’s commitment to delivering elite quality footwear weaponry via unparalleled scientific research, development and technical expertise.

“The T22 legend continues to grow and the feedback from players and our retailers is very encouraging,” said Jerome Jackson, Global Product Manager for Footwear at Prince. “This is a very competitive footwear environment, but we understand tennis players better than anyone. The T22 accommodates and benefits so many playing styles and foot types, delivering great fit and performance, which players will feel right out of the box.”

“As we continue to focus on taking our footwear designs and developments to the next level, we are confident that those who are most serious about their game will discover the Prince difference and come along for the ride,” said Steve Davis, Vice President of Global Product Development at Prince. “Working closely with elite international junior players, tapping into a global network of play testers and the fact that we have a dedicated R&D team and facility in Venice, Italy, allows us to continue to equip players with the best product.”

The T22 is built to withstand the demands that players expect from competitive footwear, delivering durability and stability in a comfortable, ventilated model. Identifiable by the iconic “forefoot straps” which stabilize the foot and prevent "tennis toe," a common tennis injury occurring when toes jam the end of the shoe, the T22 displaced what was a popular, long-standing model to take over the top spot.

The T22, was recently complemented by a new segmentation in the Prince footwear line, "Lightspeed." Lightspeed Series product is built specifically for players looking for the lowest, lightest and fastest shoes on court and is headlined by the Rebel LS for men and the Poise LS for women. Both Lightspeed models are being worn by elite international juniors and ATP/WTA touring pros today. Prince footwear models can be found at fine retailers around the world and the complete line can be viewed at www.princetennis.com.
