Djokovic Captures Paris Title in Thrilling Fashion

11/16/09 - Kennelbach, Austria -- For the second consecutive week, HEAD pro Novak Djokovic showed his dominance on the court and came away victorious. At the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris, World No. 3 Djokovic, who plays with a YOUTEK Speed Pro, edged past Gael Monfils in a dramatic final that ended 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(3).


“It is a tremendous achievement for me to win back-to-back tournaments,” said Djokovic. “This was a challenging field to play against and I am thrilled to have been able to come away with the title.”


On his way to the finals, Djokovic showed tremendous performances defeating World No. 2 Rafael Nadal straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in the semifinals. He also bested fellow HEAD pro Robin Soderling 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.


In other tournament action, HEAD pro Marin Cilic, who plays with a YOUTEK Radical MP, put together a strong performance earning a trip to the quarterfinals where he fell to Monfils 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.


In the doubles competition, HEAD pro Nenad Zimonjic and partner Daniel Nestor claimed their 9th title of 2009 against the Spaniards Marcel Granollers/Tommy Robredo.
