08/19/05 - Will work or other obligations prevent you from sitting on the sidelines watching the world’s top-seeded players battle it out on the court during next week’s US Open? Well don’t hurl your racquet in sheer disgust. Prince Sports promises to bring the game to you.

Each day of the tournament, Prince will email its “Play of the Day” directly to your inbox. And the industry leader will post the plays on a special Prince microsite, http://www.princetennis.com/usopen. The Prince Play-of-the-Day reports will showcase those amazing shots or saves sure to generate water-cooler conversations.

The daily reports will also feature player bios and highlight the equipment, or tools of the trade, that enable players to achieve such miraculous shots.

Prince Tour players slated to participate in this year’s Open include Maria Sharapova, Guillermo Coria, Nikolay Davydenko, Xavier Malisse, Olivier Rochus, Vince Spadea, David Ferrer, Davide Sanguinetti, Lisa Raymond, Ai Sugiyama, Silvia Farina-Elia, Shahar Peer, Jordan Kerr, Paul Goldstein, Pavel Vizner, Albert Montanes, Mashona Washington, Alina Jidkova, Mara Santangelo and Jamea Jackson.
The 2005 US Open is expected to attract over 625,000 fans, making it the highest attended annual sporting event in the world. The US Open -- now in its 123rd year -- will be held Monday, August 29 through Sunday, September 11, in Flushing Meadows, New York.
