ABOUT LIZA HORAN
Liza Horan is a strategic communications consultant and online innovator who specializes in tennis. Her award-winning work in the tennis industry spans 17 years and includes founding Tennis.com in 1995 and managing the creative and business sides of the website for a decade. In addition to serving as Editor of the TennisWire Network, Horan regularly contributes Inside Tennis as New York region editor, and speaks at industry events. She has served in a variety of roles for Tennis Magazine, USTA Magazine and Racquet Sports Industry.

Horan, named by Tennis Industry magazine in 2000 as one of "40 Under 40" to watch in the industry, founded TennisWire.org through a grant from the Tennis Industry Association five years ago. The site has expanded into a network—consisting of TennisWire.org, WorkInTennis.com, TennisPuzzles.com, and HelloTennis!com—that connects media, industry insiders and players.

Horan was the first Internet journalist to be credentialed at Wimbledon, after two years of lobbying the Grand Slam Committee to recognize the Internet as a legitimate medium. She is the longest-serving board member of the U.S. Tennis Writers' Association, and belongs to the International Tennis Writers Association, Association for Women in Sports Media, and New York Women in Communication.

Prior to covering tennis, Horan was worked as reporter for The Middletown Press, a daily newspaper in Connecticut, and as the New Haven stringer for Reuters, covering such stories as infant mortality, Bill Clinton's first Presidential campaign, and addresses by the Dalai Lama and Imelda Marcos, among others.

Through Media Moxie, her consulting firm based in New York City, Horan provides digital strategy, editorial, public relations, marketing and other business services to clients inside and outside tennis.
